Golf History

Brookfield began with a vision Howard Chatham, a successful Atlanta developer back in the early 1970′s. While the neighborhood was being built out they began constructing Brookfield West Country Club. Opening in 1972 to rave reviews within the golfing community it quickly became one of the premier Atlanta Country Clubs. At the time Roswell, GA existed with three traffic  lights.

In 1977 Brookfield was awarded the LPGA Tara Classic. This LPGA Tour event was a favorite tour stop among the LPGA players. While the event changed names several times it was always hosted at Brookfield Country Club.  The LPGA and Brookfield Country Club have an extensive golf history together.
